Elder
Antipholus and Elder Dromio were sold to the duke Menaphon, a famous warrior.
He was the uncle of the duke of Ephesus, and he took the boys to Ephesus when
he went to visit the duke,his nephew.
এল্ডার অ্যান্টিফোলাস এবং এল্ডার ড্রোমিওকে বিখ্যাত যোদ্ধা ডিউক মেনাফোনের কাছে বিক্রি করা হয়েছিল। তিনি ছিলেন ইফিসাসের ডিউকের কাকা, এবং তিনি যখন তার ভাগ্নে ডিউকের সাথে দেখা করতে যেতেন তখন ছেলেদের ইফিসাসে নিয়ে যেতেন।
The
duke of Ephesus liked Elder Antipholus and made him an officer in the army when
he grew up, where he established himself as a brave warrior. He once saved the
duke and the duke rewarded him by marrying him to Adriana, a rich lady of
Ephesus. At the time that his father came there, Elder Antipholus was living
with Adriana.

Antipholus
of Syracuse, or Antipholus Younger, after he parted with his friend, wanted to
move around the city and observe the manners of the people and so he gave
Dromio Younger some money to carry to the inn where he intended to dine.

Dromio
Younger was a pleasant fellow and when Antipholus Younger was bored and sad, he
used to make him happy by jesting with him. So Dromio was allowed a freedom of
speech which was greater than was usual between master and their servants.

When
Antipholus Younger had sent Dromio Younger away, he thought about his lonely
search for his mother and his brother, of whom he did not have any news and he
said sorrowfully, "I am like a drop of water in the ocean, which, seeking
to find its fellow drop, loses itself in the wide sea. So I unhappily, to find
a mother and a brother, do lose myself."
যখন অ্যান্টিফোলাস ইয়াঙ্গার ড্রোমিও ইয়াঙ্গারকে দূরে সরিয়ে দিলেন, তখন তিনি তার মা এবং ভাইয়ের জন্য তার একাকী অনুসন্ধানের কথা ভাবলেন, যাদের সম্পর্কে তার কাছে কোন খবর ছিল না এবং তিনি দুঃখের সাথে বললেন, "আমি সমুদ্রের এক ফোঁটা জলের মতো, যা তার সহযোগী ফোঁটা খুঁজে পেতে গিয়ে বিশাল সমুদ্রে নিজেকে হারিয়ে ফেলে। তাই দুঃখের বিষয় হল, একজন মা এবং একজন ভাইকে খুঁজে পেয়ে আমি নিজেকে হারিয়ে ফেলি।"
When
he was thinking of his useless travels, Elder Dromio came there. Antipholus
Younger mistook him for Dromio Younger and wondered how he came so early. He
asked him about his money. Elder Dromio also mistook Antipholus Younger for his
elder brother and said that he was sent by his mistress to fetch Antipholus for
dinner. He alsosaid that the food would be cold if he did not go home.
Antipholus Younger thought that Dromio was jesting and he again asked about his
money. Dromio once again talked of his mistress and that she wanted him to go
home for dinner.
যখন সে তার অপ্রয়োজনীয় ভ্রমণের কথা ভাবছিল, তখন এল্ডার ড্রোমিও সেখানে এসেছিলেন। অ্যান্টিফোলাস ইয়ঙ্গার তাকে ড্রোমিও ইয়ঙ্গার ভেবেছিলেন এবং ভাবতেন যে তিনি এত তাড়াতাড়ি কীভাবে এসেছেন। তিনি তাকে তার টাকা সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞাসা করেছিলেন। এল্ডার ড্রোমিও অ্যান্টিফোলাস ইয়ঙ্গারকে তার বড় ভাই ভেবেছিলেন এবং বলেছিলেন যে তাকে তার উপপত্নী অ্যান্টিফোলাসকে রাতের খাবারের জন্য আনতে পাঠিয়েছিলেন। তিনি আরও বলেছিলেন যে তিনি যদি বাড়িতে না যান তবে খাবার ঠান্ডা হয়ে যাবে। অ্যান্টিফোলাস ইয়ঙ্গার ভেবেছিলেন যে ড্রোমিও মজা করছে এবং তিনি আবার তার টাকা সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞাসা করেছিলেন। ড্রোমিও আবারও তার উপপত্নীর কথা বললেন এবং তিনি চান যে তিনি তাকে রাতের খাবারের জন্য বাড়িতে যান।
Antipholus asked, "What mistress?"
Dromio replied, "Why your worship's wife, sir." To this answer,
Antipholus Younger, having no wife,got so angry that he said he that sometimes
he talked freely to Dromio but he was at that time not in a mood to jest with
him. He again asked him about the money and said that as they were strangers in
that land, Dromio should not have trusted the money in any other's custody.

Dromio,
on hearing that they were strangers in that land thought that Antipholus was
jesting with him and he suggested that he could jest while having dinner. Now
Antipholus Younger lost all patience and beat Elder Dromio. Dromio fled to his
mistress and reported that his master would not come for dinner as he had no
wife.
ড্রোমিও, যখন শুনলো যে তারা সেই দেশে অপরিচিত, তখন সে ভেবেছিল যে অ্যান্টিফোলাস তার সাথে মজা করছে এবং সে প্রস্তাব দিয়েছে যে সে রাতের খাবারের সময় মজা করতে পারে। এবার অ্যান্টিফোলাস ইয়ঙ্গার সমস্ত ধৈর্য হারিয়ে ফেলে এবং এল্ডার ড্রোমিওকে মারধর করে। ড্রোমিও তার উপপত্নীর কাছে পালিয়ে যায় এবং জানায় যে তার প্রভু রাতের খাবারের জন্য আসবেন না কারণ তার কোন স্ত্রী নেই।
Adriana
got furious on hearing that her husband had refused to acknowledge her. She
thought that her husband meant that he was in love with another lady. She flew
in a violent rage and reproached her husband. Luciana, her younger sister,
tried to bring her out of her groundless suspicions.
তার স্বামী তাকে স্বীকার করতে অস্বীকৃতি জানালে আদ্রিয়ানা রেগে যান। তিনি ভেবেছিলেন যে তার স্বামী অন্য একজন মহিলার প্রেমে পড়েছেন। তিনি প্রচণ্ড রেগে যান এবং তার স্বামীকে তিরস্কার করেন। তার ছোট বোন লুসিয়ানা তাকে তার ভিত্তিহীন সন্দেহ থেকে মুক্ত করার চেষ্টা করেন।
